Mastanamma, aged 106 yrs old from Andhra Pradesh is one of the recent internet storms who has grabbed the attention of millions of YouTube viewers worldwide. Country Foods, Mastanamma’s YouTube channel is run by her great grandson K.Laxman has 3,77,000 subscribers now.
K.Laxman describes the idea behind the formation of this channel, “We were a set of bachelors who tried to cook food in an easy way with easily available ingredients. We cooked such a recipe and uploaded in our own channel.
Our first video went viral and grabbed a lot of public viewers and we totally didn’t expect that level of response. That was when I decided to run this channel and to let the people know about the traditional and authentic way of cooking, I used the help of my Great Grandmother”.
Mastanamma really cooks in a simple way, using the fresh ingredients available in the garden. She cooks for nearly 10 to 15 people and serves them with grace. She never gets tired and always wears a gorgeous smile on her face that never fades off from the point she starts cooking till she serves it to the people nearby.
The Number 1 fans for her recipes are the youngsters. The comment section of her videos shows that all. Also, many foreigners from abroad expressed their wishes for her cooking and the energy she has.

Got married at a very early age of 11, Mastanamma lost her husband at a very early age indeed.4 of her 5 children died of old age, while she was still alive and she still survives handling her needs single-handedly. Her great grandson says that she has worked hard to bring up all her 5 children. Mastanamma is definitely an icon of strength and brave heart.
