Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms that are either single-celled (unicellular), cell colony (multicellular) or acellular (lacking cells). Microbiology includes many sub-disciplines like virology, mycology, parasitology and bacteriology.
The persons who specialize in the field of Microbiology are called as Microbiologists. These persons specialize in studying organisms and infectious agents which cannot be seen with naked eye. They study the interactions of microorganisms with humans and other organisms that exist and affect our lives.
There is always huge scope for this field as there is no stopping of advancements in science and technology. There is even more vast scope due to the involvement of microbiology in many fields like medicine, pharmacy, diary, industry, clinical research, water industry, agriculture, chemical technology and nanotechnology.
There is always huge demand for microbiologists in India and abroad. A microbiologist can always discover new drugs and make some innovative research. An under graduate can work in some pathology labs or research institute. Universities and colleges employ microbiologists as researchers and teachers.
