As he was walking over the bridge, he looked into the steam. He saw a dog with a large piece of bone in his mouth. He was not aware that it was his own reflection.
He thought that this is an another dog with a piece of bone. Oh! What a juicy bone this dog has! If I can get this bone, I will have two bones to eat. I am so hungry. I’ll bark loudly to frighten the dog away.
He’ll run away leaving the bone behind and I’ll take it for myself. With such thoughts the do barked loudly. There was no reply to his barking but only a loud splash. The piece of bone from his mouth fell into the stream and the dog became sad and remained hungry.
Moral: Be contented with with what you have.
