Mandya has many beautiful and greenish places, temples, waterfalls and listed below are some of the famous waterfalls of Mandya and everyone will have great excitement when we visit these waterfalls.


1.      Shivanasamudra Falls


Shivanasamudra Falls lies over the Kaveri River, in the Malavalli Taluka of the Mandya District. It has twin falls, namely the Barachukki Falls and the Gaganchukki Falls. Asia’s first Hydroelectric Power Project was set up here in 1901. It plunges down from a height of 75 m. There is also a protected national forest at this site which is inhabited by tiger, elephant, bear, peacock and other animals. This pair of beautiful waterfalls is a treat for the eyes. The waterfall is a relaxation for the souls, music to the ears and power for the mind. The best season to visit is August month. In the rainy season the force is tremendous and you are not allowed to go down to the falls for safety,


2.      Barachukki Falls


Barachukki Falls is also known as the Eastern Falls and is around 2 km away from the Shivanasamudra Falls. It is the 2nd largest waterfall in India, which has a height of around 350 ft. 3.      Gaganachukki Falls


Gaganchukki Falls, also known as the Western Falls, comes down through the branches of trees into the Kaveri River. Some of the temples situated near this waterfall are considered to be constructed by local villagers. The power of the falls is overwhelming. It's absolutely amazing and you will be thrilled as well as tensed by the sheer power.
