In the village of Thummalagunta village in Andhra Pradesh during the ganesh chaturthi festival, the main attraction was a 30 foot Ganesha made of 2 lakh bangles. The devotees were charmed by the beauty of this idol and also the skill and craftsmanship that is sure to have gone into making it. Every year there is an endeavor to make unique and interesting Ganesh idols all over the country during the ganesh chaturthi festival and this time this particular idol stole the show.


Thirty artists worked for 15 days to design this Ganesh. The best part is that usually Ganesh idols are immersed in water after the festivities, but this will not be the case with the bangle ganesh. This Ganesh will be disassembled and the bangles will be distributed to the women around the village.


This village is located near the temple town of Tirupati but its claim to fame was this particular Ganesh. This idol was not just unique in the way that it was made but also

that it would not be immersed in water as is the custom.
