Many fad diets make eating so complex that to follow them; you need to hire a nutritionist chef to plan and cook your meals and a security guard to keep your spouse and kids from sneaking out of the house to eat the off diet behind your back. Most of us don’t have the budget for hired help. An optimal diet is neither complex nor punitive to your loved ones.

Think a moment about a traditional Asian diet, which is based primarily on carbohydrates laden rice with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Obesity was never a widespread problem in China, Japan, Korea and the rest of the eastern Asia until the last thirty to fifty years. For centuries, chronic diseases and obesity were never widespread in these countries.

To be optimally healthy, consuming as much food as possible from organic sources is best, especially free range organic sources of protein. Mass produced cattle and chicken meat contains hormones, herbicides, pesticides and antibiotics. Non organic dairy can contain similar chemicals. Non-organically grown vegetables and fruits contain herbicides and pesticides.

And there is no doubt that chemicals can increase inflammation and thus contribute to chronic disease development. Moreover pre-packed and processed foods should be minimized as much as possible. They are almost made with the cheapest oils, which are inflammatory and contain massive amounts of chemicals and manufactured contents, all of which your body sees as a foreign substances. Even doctors have nutritional deficiencies, because even they can’t keep track of what they are getting in their diets.
