Mahabalipuram, ruled by the Pallava dynasty, has been known for its architectural marvel built by them and was the second capital of Pallava ruled Kanchipuram, and is at 60 km from Chennai. Mahabalipuram has been declared as the world heritage site by UNESCO.

 


Some of the important places to visit in Mahabalipuram include the monolithic architecture, the Arjuna's penance, the Varaha cave temple, the Ganges descent, all of which are a treat for any visitor to visit and cherish moments with the history.

Besides these, Mahabalipuram also has the famous shore temple, which is one of the most beautiful architectural wonders by Pallavas, and is located on the Bay of Bengal, the Thirukadalmalli temple, the five chariots or Pancha Rathas, as named from 5 Pandavas, and also the beach and the seashore which gives the tourist a pleasant feel.
