'Kanithan' is written and directed by AR Murugadoss assistant TN Santosh and it is produced by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu. The expectations were high as the trailer itself sparked more expectations. The movie is releasing this Friday and even before release a special screening took place for press people and we are bring you the review for our readers. Don't worry we are not going to reveal any spoilers. The movie is about a journalist who takes on the fake certificate scam. Atharvaa needs to reveal the mystery behind this and he faces few troubles. His dream is to join BBC and win his lady love. Did he clears the mystery and what happens in climax is a thrilling tale which has to be watched on silver screen.

Atharvaa is just getting better and better with each movie. The actor shows his mettle with variety of characters. His last release 'Eeti' showed him as a sports man and now he fits shoes of a journalist. He is in right channel and it seems his time has come in Kollywood. He has improved a lot in his dancing and action scenes. Catherine Tresa doesn't have much to offer other than showing her midriff and glamour. She is the usual stereotypical actress in Kollywood. But her glamour avatar for the first time in Kollywood will definitely make everyone drool. If Naren did role of a responsible coach in 'Eeti', it is a responsible father here. Bhagyaraj shows his skills as a police officer. Tarun Arora from Bollywood will be the next big bad guy in Kollywood town.

Technical wise the movie is solid. Sivamani has made his debut as composer. He scores more in background and fails in song sequences. Some better orchestration is necessary during song sequences. The first half doesn't focus more on story but still it moves at a good pace. Second half gets into the race and here we lose steam due to unnecessary sequences. Few cuts could have made the movie better. Arvind Krishna's cinematography is another positive aspect. He captures even the darkness in a beautiful way. Bhuvan Srinivasan's cuts are crisp. But still the second half editing could have been better. TN Santosh makes a perfect debut and he is yet another successful person from A.R.Murugadoss school.

Atharvaa proves his mettle and he shoulders the movie single handed. Music and editing are the drawbacks. But still, this field of fake certificate scam is something new to Kollywood and this could be watched for its new field. Despite logic loopholes, the movie can be watched for its innovative screenplay.
