People talk of secular values and freedom to practice any religious custom. Many times media highlights how people of different beliefs helped eachother.
However fundamentalists always throw spanner on their efforts and now a Bollywood actress is insulted on social media for visiting the famous Golden Temple in Amritsar and also Ganesh pandals.
Soha Ali Khan, popular Bollywood actress visited Golden Temple, Amritsar and also visited few Ganesh pandals in Mumbai and sought the blessings of the lord. Later when she shared the snaps of her in the backdrop of the Golden Temple and ganesh pandals, many insulted and abused her for her acts.
People abused her questioning her how could she visit Golden Temple and Ganesh pandals being a Muslim. They abused her for insulting the muslim religion and accused her for being unfaithful for her own religion.
Soha issued a statement questioning her trollers. She said "I am all for freedom of expression, but being told how going to a temple makes me a non-Muslim is plain callous. No one has the right to say that. Whether I choose to do namaz or go to a Church, how does it affect anyone?,"
Soha visited Golden Temple and Ganesh Pandal to seek blessings of the Lord ahead of the release of her thriller '31 October'. 31 October is directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil and stars Soha Ali Khan as Tajinder Kaur along with Vir Das, Deepraj Rana, Lakha Lakhwinder Singh and others. The film, based on a true story, focuses on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination which occurred on 31 October 1984
