After the sensational blockbuster Arjun Reddy, the hot and happening Vijay Devarakonda is back on silver screens, but this time with a movie, he wished he never did. A much-delayed release of a movie that was made even before Pellichoopulu, here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Ye Mantram Vesave review.

The film begins with the hyperactive Nikki (Vijay Devarakonda), whose game crazy attitude troubles his parents and worries them thinking of his future. Enters Rags (Shivani), a game designer whose ideas are rejected and demotivated by her boss. Situations force them to come together through a bet Nikki makes with his friends. When he tries to find rags, she goes missing. Was Nikki able to find Rags and join her is what the pathetic movie is all about?

Vijay Devarakonda, who had excelled in Pellichoopulu as the typical boy next door and in Arjun Reddy as the doctor with anger management issues, is totally out of place in this movie, as everything including his characterization, looks, hairstyle is in a weird way and his performance is a complete dampener as he's a pale shadow of his Arjun Reddy act. Shivani gets little screen space and she annoys with her poor lip sync and unbearable expressions. The rest of the cast has nothing much to do on screen.

Abdus Samad's music is poor, as his background score is jarring, and of his songs, none pass the muster. Shiva Reddy's Cinematography captures the locales and the stunts perfectly, but the visuals are badly impacted by poor VFX. Director Shridhar Marri has taken a different plot supposedly, to make his debut, with the life of a game freak and the troubles his game craziness leads to.  Despite having a potential plot for an exciting thriller and a promising actor in lead role, Shridhar fails to extract good performance from him.

Vijay hardly is seen emoting in any of the scenes and looks awkward with weird hairdo and costumes. The movie suffers from illogical sequences, inconsistent screenplay, and pointless scenes which totally make a joke out of the audience. Ye Mantram Vesave makes one just think after that tiring movie experience, urging to ask Vijay Devarakonda, "Ye cinema chesave??!!". Don't dare to enter this game that has no lives for the audience. Killer stuff that deserves a miss.

Vijay Deverakonda,Shivani Singh,Shridhar Marri,Abdus SamadA poor screenplay with pathetic performances, a shocker from Vijay Devarakonda.
