It was 2015, and Superstar Mahesh Babu had been bogged down by back to back disasters, One Nenokkadine and Aagadu, both with proven directors, and then came Koratala Siva, who had given just a debut hit in the form of Mirchi, and the combo delivered an unanticipated Non—Baahubali blockbuster with Srimanthudu. Come 2018, and now, the Superstar is exactly in the same situation, after losing twice with the family entertainer Brahmotsavam and the spy action thriller SPYder, and yet again, it's Koratala Siva to the rescue, with their Political entertainer, Bharat Ane Nenu. With the humongous hype and gargantuan expectations, has Bharat won the box office elections? Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Bharat Ane Nenu / Bharat Enum Naan  / Bharat Enna Njan Review.


The movie begins introducing Bharat Ram (Mahesh Babu) getting his 5th degree at Oxford, and later he comes to India after an unfortunate incident. Situations lead him to turn the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, and he begins to take up the cause of people with his action plans, irking people within his party itself, like Ravishankar. As he continues fighting for serving people, and for the upliftment of them, whether Bharat was able to achieve his mission and keep up his promise of serving people despite oppositions and challenging situations and succeed is what the powerful entertainer Bharat Ane Nenu / Bharat Enum Naan  / Bharat Enna Njan is all about.

Mahesh Babu is at his best, and after that extremely mellowed down and underplayed performance in SPYder, where he was completely overshadowed by SJ Suryah. Here, the superstar is at his elements, be it his casual , witty oneliners, or the massy punches (this time with the perfect political coating) aimed at his onscreen opponents, or his trademark action episodes, Mahesh Babu is like an energetic ball of fire on the screen, and impresses with his emoting skills, as he displays a wide transformation from Bharat before and Bharat after an important episode in the movie.


Kiara Advani makes a decent debut, and she is more than a mere eye candy here, as she gets to play a substantial part in Bharat's journey, making it a good start to her Tollywood career. Prakashraj delivers an impressive supporting role as always, and stands tall among the supporting cast, Rao Ramesh proves that he's a veteran when it comes to such roles, and his typical dialogue delivery and casual humour, are a treat for the audience, while the evil gang lead by Ravishankar, Yashpal Sharma, and Devaraj are at their menacing best.

After the rocking rustic numbers in Rangasthalam, Devi Sri Prasad has given his best in a completely contrasting genre, and while he has delivered a stunning background score, of his songs, the Bharat Ane Nenu title song, O Vasumathi , and the Vachadayyo Saamy are worthy, giving the right impact. The top notch cinematography by Tirru and Ravi K Chandran captures the spectacular assembly shots, the colorful visuals of the songs, and the grand sets, and the high octane, massy stunt sequences in all their glory, as Bharat Ane Nenu / Bharat Enum Naan  / Bharat Enna Njan is an engaging visual experience. Sreekar Prasad's editing makes sure that there are no drags in the screenplay. Koratala Siva, who has risen to be in the elite league of top directors, with his hattrick of blockbusters, Mirchi,Srimanthudu and Janatha Gargage, has this time opted for treading the unfamiliar terrain, directing a political entertainer, with a huge star like Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead. 

While his movies have always been laced with some social message, this time, he has chosen to go directly political, and present a concept very much relevant to the society, and a visual rulebook on how to and how not to run a state administration, and the nation's as well. Koratala Siva has extracted Mahesh Babu's best, and while making the actor stay in his comfort levels, also makes him deliver a standout performance as the Chief Minister, with his modified body language and dialogue delivery.

While the first half goes at a brisk pace, with the movie gaining momentum right from the 15th minute post Bharat taking charge, the interval bang is one of the highlights of the movie, and just like the Mamidi thota fight of Srimanthudu, Bharat too has a theater fight as its highlight, and the second half (though marred by occasional songs) moves at an even increased pace, with surprising twists and turns at the right places. Despite having a near 3-hour runtime, Koratala Siva keeps the screenplay tight, without too many logical loopholes or drags, and maintains an interesting screenplay throughout.

And with the support of a huge star cast,  good music from Devi Sriprasad, and top-notch visuals captured by Tirru, Bharat Ane Nenu / Bharat Enum Naan  / Bharat Enna Njan is a worthy entrant into the list of best political entertainers. Kudos to Koratala Siva for daring to make a political entertainer with conviction, and his guts to deliver the right message at the right time, without being preachy and also satisfying masses and classes alike, while also perfectly staying different from previous political flicks like Leader, Oke Okkadu.etc. All said, Bharat Ane Nenu / Bharat Enum Naan  / Bharat Enna Njan is that perfect comeback for Superstar Mahesh Babu, that is a must watch for everyone!
