Mega family launches yet another hero from their movie, following Ram Charan, Sai Dharam Tej, and Varun Tej, as Megastar Chiranjeevi's son in law Kalyan Dhev makes his debut as a hero, with Rakesh Shashi's Vijetha, which bears the title of Megastar's yesteryear blockbuster. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Vijetha review.

Kalyan Dhev belongs to a middle-class family and is a carefree youngster who roams around with his friends and is not so serious about life or a job. His dad Murali Sharma is extremely worried about his future. Kalyan Dhev gets to know of his dad's past, and how he was not able to get a job of his passion, and now Kalyan starts a business. What happens to Kalyan's new business and was he able to succeed in it and make his father happy is what Vijetha is all about.

Kalyan Dhev is just okayish as he fails to get his expressions right in most of the sequences. With the camera not going for closeup shots, the actor's lack of expressions is not exposed much. Murali Sharma as the doting dad is impressive as he emotes well making an instant connect with the audience. Malavika Nair is adequate, and the rest of the cast including Tanikella Bharani are aptly cast.

Background score by Harshawardhan Rameshwar is loud and jarring, and of his songs, the peppy Kokokkrako and Minsarey Minsarey pass the muster, Senthilkumar's cinematography is impressive as he must be given the credit for not exposing Kalyan's inability to be expressive in many sequences. Director Rakesh Shashi who had previously directed the dud Jatha Kalise, is back this time, with the launchpad of Mega Hero Kalyan Dhev, and this time around he has chosen yet another plot as old as the hills. While it's fine with choosing a routine plot, it might always work when the presentation is unique, and here's where Vijetha fails.

Vijetha follows the beaten path and is extremely cliched and predictable. Making things worse is Kalyan Dhev's expressions as he looks deadpan for the most part, especially in emotional scenes. It is Murali Sharma who towers and shoulders the movie, to make it at least an average entertainer. While songs by Rameshwar are fine, Senthilkumar does a neat job with his impressive cinematography. However, Rakesh Shashi fails to make use of the technicians well, as he has come up with a draggy and routine screenplay with boring scenes, and places unwarranted scenes and poor song placements, adding to the damage of Vijetha. All said, Vijetha, bearing the name of Megastar's yesteryear hit, is a total dampener that doesn't live up to expectations.
