Young hero Bharath who was last seen playing a cameo in Superstar Mahesh Babu starrer Spyder and in the Stoner movie Simba is back on screen with the supernatural thriller Pottu directed by Thambi Vettothi Sundaram and Sowkarpettai director VC Vadivudaiyan. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Pottu review.

Bharath and Srushti Dange are college students in love and their life goes well before an evil spirit attacks them. Enters Aghori Namitha and Ineya and Bharath's life is caught in a supernatural web and how Bharath and Srushti Dange escape evil forces and spirits is what the movie is all about.

Bharath is funny in his three looks especially his Aghori and transgender looks as he's a misfit and Namitha is equally funny with her weird hairstyles and getup and looks pathetic. Ineya and Srushti Dange are glamorous and voluptuous while Thambi Ramaiah and Sendrayan are annoying. Even the supporting characters look so farcical and most of them are stone-faced. Most of the characters have lip-sync issues and that is another big trouble.

Amrish's background score is loud and jarring and none of his songs appeal and the cinematography by Eniyan J Harris is poor. Editing by Elisa fails to keep the screenplay engaging. Visual effects are pathetic. Action scenes are bland. Most of the dialogues are ages-old and we just can't relate it to the current scenario. Writing such a script and making a producer agree to spend money on such a worthless thing is something beyond a miracle.

Director Vadivudaiyan is confused whether he wants to direct a thriller or horror movie or supernatural thriller and has ultimately made a mess out of the screenplay. Bharath, Namitha and Ineya are equally irritating as their performances are over the top and hamming and their get-ups and expression are even horrible to say the least. With ear damaging Music, eye soar visuals and bad editing, Pottu is a huge disaster of epic proportions and another poor choice of selection from Bharath.
