After being seen last in the disastrous movie Sarkar last year, Vijay has joined hands with disastrous movie maker Atlee for the third time after double disasters Theri and Mersal with Bigil. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net review of Bigil.

Bigil, the son of don Rayappan has let go off football after the death of Rayappan, but an unfortunate incident happening to his friend Kathir forces him to take up football again, this time as coach of the State women's team. Was Bigil able to win the favor of the women and develop the team to make them win the cup is what Bigil is all about.

Vijay in his dual roles, as usual, overacts and especially in the older getup is completely irritating with pathetic dialogue delivery and funny as well as irritating body language.  The football in this film is awful and damn right cringeworthy. Vijay looks like he's never kicked a ball in his life let alone play at the highest level, truly awful depiction of the great game. If you're going to make a FOOTBALL film get someone who can actually play and kick a football, not looking like it's the first time he's played!! Nayanthara is made a dummy while Kathir hams. The gang of girls Indhuja, Reba Monica John, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha, Indraja do their share of overacting and annoy. Jackie Shroff is more of a loud caricature and the rest of the cast including Vivek, Daniel Balaji, and Yogi Babu have nothing much to do. Comedy Actor Vivek appears only in the second half and he has no scope to perform at all. Nayanthara's character couldn't be worse as she stops marriage every now and then just because of a guy whom she barely knows. In fact, Vijay says, you can give me the cup later, just give me company now and she happily sits in the back seat of his bike... And that's how they portrayed women and they sing 'Singapenne' in the latter half. The worst thing about this film is that there's no reason to like any of the characters. They seem to get everything for no effort.

The story is feeble and the portray of the North Chennai culture is absolutely shocking. It shows everyone in the area is a goon and the place is some sort of poverty-stricken place, everyone does the lower class jobs, and things like that. AR Rahman delivers one of his worst background scores for Bigil and none of the songs are impressive even with visuals. Cinematography by GK Vishnu is the only better feature of his movie and editing by Ruben is worse than most of the movie has useless sequences. The running time also doesn't help as it runs for 178 minutes. What's worse is Atlee has just copied and pasted Chak De India scenes and the only difference is the game! The Penalty shoot out, Using a fatso girl to bully rival team, and so on. Frankly there are NO redeeming aspects of this film.

Atlee has always been known for his crap copycat acts and yet again he has come up with a copycat work and this time around with Bigil he has stooped to an all-time low with a pathetic screenplay which is a worst mix of Chak de India, Kanaa, Natpe Thunai, Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu and all good sports flicks in Hindi and south cinema. Vijay delivers a completely irritating and loud performance with worst body language and annoying dialogue delivery and none of the actors impress with performance. Music by AR Rahman is another low point of the movie and his songs are irritants, and cinematography being the only highlight of the movie, while with a weak screenplay and worst performances and uninspiring storyline, Bigil is a perfect testimony as to why Atlee is nothing more than a copycat director who doesn't deserve to continue making films for his rip-off, plagiarist activities and ruining lives of associate directors and aspiring makers.  If you're a Football fan you'll feel ashamed that anyone could make anything this pathetic and fake!

Vijay, Nayanthara, KathirAn embarrassment on Football and North Chennai people!
