meenakshi sheshadri was a superstar in 80’ and early 90's decade, she appeared in many blockbuster films, she was one of the most highly paid actresses of her time. She even did a telugu film with megastar chiranjeevi ‘ Aapadbandhavudu', although now she lives in united states, she turns 56 today.
meenakshi sheshadri was born to a tamil family in Jharkhand, she got trained in classical dance forms like Bharatnatyam, kuchipudi, Kathak, and Odissi. She made her bollywood debut with ‘Painter Babu' in 1983. Later she was spotted by ace film director subhash ghai, he casted her in ‘Hero' with newcomer Jackie Shroff.
Subhash made another blockbuster with her alongside anil kapoor in ‘Meri Jung'. In 1988, she gave one of her biggest blockbuster with amitabh bachchan called ‘Shahenshah', riding on her success, she started getting offers from south as well, she starred in ‘Aapadbandhavudu' with megastar chiranjeevi in 1992.
Rajkumar Santhoshi casted her in ‘Damini’ in 1993, the film was run away success, she won national award, and film fare award for Damini. Her last film was ‘Ghatak' with sunny deol, she quit acting and married. She was married to investment banker Harish mysore in New York. She is currently living in Plano, Texas. According to her, she isn’t interested anymore in films.
