The highly successful bollywood con drama special 26, starring akshay kumar, anupam kher, manoj bajpai and kajal aggarwal and directed by neeraj pandey, had instant recognition all over india, and numerous makers had an eye on the movie to purchase the remake rights in their respective languages.
In tollywood, there had been heavy speculations for the past few years that the movie will be remade by gabbar singh, duvvada jagannadham director harish shankar, starring none other than mass Maharaja ravi teja in the lead role, marking their collaboration after Shock and Mirapakay. Kajal is expected to do the female lead in the telugu version and ravi teja was happy to continue the 'Veera' chemistry. But all spoiled now!

The telugu remake rights which were bought by a leading producer has now denied the reports that he has never grabbed any such and it's all some cooked up story. kajal aggarwal is currently working for 'Indian 2' where she pairs with Kamal Haasan for the first time in her career.
