2016 saw the rise of a new wave in the kannada film industry as there were new-age filmmakers coming into the industry and shaking the film fraternity with interesting films like U-turn, Thithi, etc that made other industries look at Sandalwood seriously.
One of the important films among them happened to be the hemanth Kumar Directorial Godhi Banna Satharana Mykattu starring rakshit shetty, hariharan , sruthi hariharan and anant nag and the movie was a critical and commercial success.
Now the movie recently got its tamil version, 60 Vayadhu Maaniram, and the tamil version is directed by radha mohan and it featured Prakashraj, vikram prabhu and Indhuja in the lead roles. The movie was a huge failure and vikram prabhu accepted that he did the movie after watching samantha accepting U-Turn and lots of kannada remakes doing good at the Box-Office. Vikram prabhu has been going through a tough phase of his career with pressure mounting on him to deliver as none of his recent outings have fared well commercially or critically.
