Superstar Rajnikanth began the year with a bang with his pongal release petta helmed by karthik Subbaraj and had recently completed shooting for the AR murugadoss directorial darbar which will have him paired with Lady Superstar Nayanthara and failed so bad at the Box-Office. theater owners and distributors even claimed for reimbursement.
Much before the release announcement of darbar, the announcement was made on Thalaivar 168, Rajnikanth's next movie, which will be helmed by Siva, who had been appreciated by Superstar for his recent release Viswasam starring Thala ajith which had smashed Petta.
Siva has a penchant for titles starting with v and ending with M and this was seen in Veeram, Vedhalam, Vivegam and Viswasam, and the latest buzz is that Superstar Rajnikanth's movie might also follow this sentiment and is speculated to be titled as Viyoogam. But now, it has been confirmed that the movie is titled as 'Annaththe'. The shooting has been completed more than 60% and the team is planning to wrap up the movie by april and release the movie as a festival treat by Diwali.
