Director Lingusamy had started his career with the family entertainer Anandham and after the blockbuster success he went on to score another hit with Run and his career made a superb takeoff off but his next movie with Thala ajith Ji became a failure and stopped his career.
However he made a return with Sandakozhi and was later bogged down by Bheema but again after that he returned with Paiya and Vettai, only to lose it all with Anjaan followed by Sandakozhi 2. Now the maker is set to direct lawrence in the remake of Rangasthalam.
The reason behind Lingusamy getting down from top heroes to lawrence is that the director who is also a producer had got 1 crore finance for producing the movie Enni Aezhu Naal with karthi and samantha and the movie never took off and with court pressure to settle the money soon, Lingusamy desperately has signed rangasthalam remake to settle dues. It should be noted that he is the first director to show samantha in Bikini on the screen. He showed her in a bikini in the movie 'Anjaan'.
