While it had been common for malayalam movies to get remakes in telugu or other regional languages like tamil and kannada, say, for instance, Drishyam which was remade with venky, now a telugu movie is setting the start for tollywood flicks to be remade in malayalam as well.
The movie which is gonna be remade is none other than the 2016 Superhit romantic comedy pellichoopulu directed by Tharun Bascker Dhassyam and starring vijay Deverakonda, Ritu varma and priyadarshi which was a surprise super hit of the year, and propelled the careers of vijay and Ritu.
pellichoopulu is all set to be made in malayalam by director Jis Joy who had earlier directed the acclaimed hit sunday Holiday, and is titled vijay Superum Pournamiyum, and will have young hero Asif ali and Filmfare winning actress aishwarya Lakshmi of Mayaanadhi fame playing leads. Let's see if this feel-good remake wins Mallu hearts as well. Ritu varma is upset as her tamil release 'Dhruva Natchathiram' is still struggling to get a release after so many years.
