Chiyaan vikram is not in the best of forms of late, as his recent movies like the sankranthi release Sketch costarring tamannaah and the recent release, Saamy Square directed by hari and costarring Keerthy suresh had both ended as duds, despite releasing with decent expectations.
Next, the actor is starring in two movies, the gautham Vasudev menon directorial dhruva Natchathiram costarring aishwarya rajesh and Ritu varma, and the thriller directed by rajesh m Selva of Thoongavanam fame and bankrolled by Ulaga Nayagan kamal haasan, costarring Akshara Haasan.
Now, it has been officially confirmed that vikram will be playing the role of freedom fighter Varikkunath Kunjahammad Haji, in the upcoming malayalam movie directed by Anwar Rasheed, based on the 1921 Malabar rebellion, and the movie marks Chiyaan's reentry to malayalam 18 years after Indriyam. shruti haasan is also part of this project and her role is kept as a secret by the makers. If reports are to be trusted, trisha never got a chance to act in 'Saamy 2' where vikram is doing the lead role. Now, trisha is likely to pair with vikram in a new project which will be directed by a debut director.
