Actor karthi had started this year on a disastrous note, as his first release of the year Dev, the adventure romantic movie co-starring rakul preet singh, ramya krishnan, Prakashraj and karthik failed miserably and the director rajath Ravishankar's making was criticized.
However karthi made a stunning comeback with his second release of the year, Kaithi directed by Managaram fame lokesh kanagaraj and the movie went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and also the actor's first 100 crores grosser becoming the Deepavali winner.
Karthi was seen recently sharing screen space with sister in law jyothika in the jeethu joseph directorial Thambi. The movie though starting with mixed reviews, went on to ultimately sustain due to poor reviews for hero and now the collections are steady and have overtaken hero to turn another hit for Karthi. Now, this movie is getting dubbed in kannada and will hit the online streaming platforms directly and ensure karthi gets some additional profits too. The makers are also planning to sell the movie rights in the hindi version.
