The Provisional Post-Mortem reports indicate that he died of asphyxia due to hanging as the cause of death. The actor did not leave any suicide note behind. But going by the medical reports in his room, police say that he is being treated for Depression and that may be the reason for the suicide.
The final rites will happen today in Mumbai. His family members have come to mumbai to take part. But then, Sushant's maternal uncle from patna expressed doubts over death. "We don’t think he committed suicide, police must investigate the matter. There seems to be a conspiracy behind his death. He has been murdered," he said. However, he did not name any suspect.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s last onscreen was Nitesh Tiwari directed ‘Chhichhore’. The 2019 release was a huge hit at the box office. His last film, dil Bechara was supposed to release in May but it got postponed due to the coronavirus Pandemic. There are reports that the movie may release directly online skipping its theatrical release.
