Yesteryear superhit maker bharathiraja has been known for directing many blockbuster movies in the later 80s till the mid-90s such as 16 Vayathiniley, Kizhakke Pogum rail, Sigappu Rojakkal, Alaigal Oyvathillai, Mudhal Mariyathai, Kizhakku Cheemayile to name a few.



After failures like Tajmahal, bharathiraja had turned an actor with Maniratnam's Aaytha Ezhuthu and was seen in many movies later such as Pandiyanadu, Kurangu Bommai, etc and last played Siva Karthikeyan's grandfather in Namma Veettu Pillai.



While his last released directorial venture was Annakodi the veteran bharathiraja made a comeback to direction with his directorial Meendum Oru Mariyathai which has got released worldwide on february 21. bharathi Raja is one of the reputed directors in the Film industry. He has directed numerous movies and has earned a reputation for himself. But these days he is keeping a low profile. Now, we hear from sources that he is planning to take the director's hat once again and this time he will be directing a debut actor for a thriller genre and during a recent interview with a leading tamil weekly he himself confirmed the same. He said he wrote the script during the lockdown.
