Before starting this review, let us make sure that this movie is based on Charles Dickens' novel 'Great Expectations'. Noor (Aditya) belongs to low class and Firdaus (Katrina Kaif) belongs to elite class. Both are childhood buddies. But Begum Hazrat (Tabu) is not happy with their bonding. She already has a heart break and she plans vengeance through her daughter. At the same time, Noor decides to enter Firdaus's life with great passion termed as Fitoor and he moves to Delhi to become a World class painter. He returns with his  passion for Firdaus. But he faces lots of hurdles due to the political clashes in Kashmir. So what happens next ? Has Begum separated the childhood buddies ? Has the lovers united ? Watch it on silver screen.

Skipping lead characters Aditya Roy Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Tabu, Kashmir itself has a vital role to play in this movie. Kashmir connects various characters of the movie. The contrast in seasons are well captured through the cinematographer's lens. Aditya Roy Kapoor is one smoking hot personality. He often shows his chiseled body and it was in perfect shape. The well designed physique is flawless and acting wise he emotes at times and fails at times. But he adds the depth to that character and that matters most. Katrina Kaif is flawless and her gorgeous red hair adds more spices. The movie has numerous lip locks and each time the passion is seen on screen. Tabu shows her charisma and her versatility in each frame. She delivers stuff as the perfect royal lady. Rest of the characters are way too shallow.

Credits to cinematographer Anay Goswamy. Most of the portion we can see 'White' colour dominating the screen. This was done to represent the backdrop of Kashmir. But the love story itself is a vibrant one. And at places we can see the lenses were used again and again. This clearly has an edge over the film. Amit Trivedi's music is soulful and it is pure bliss. Songs are connected with central theme of the movie. Deepa Bhatia's editing keeps the running time right on check. The running time of the movie is just 2 hours and 9 minutes. Abhishek Kapoor has proved his mettle in screenplay department. He has narrated a lengthy novel into a crispy movie and that requires some talent.

'Fitoor' is a typical Poor boy falling in love with Rich girl story. But the love story has all elements and as it has been released this Valentine's week it is even special for us. You can ignore the complex political scenarios and enjoy the romantic portions alone.
