What Is Good
- Art Direction
What Is Bad
- Some cliches
Mohenjo Daro featuring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hedge is just a Period Drama based on Ancient Indian Civilization. The movie speaks a lot about the life of people in that civilization and the story focuses on a particular pesaant who falls in love with Princess. The movie just has old cliches to entertain audience. However the spectacular backdrop of old civilization is just fabulous. If ancient civilization excites you, then this film is a must watch under all terms. Coming to plot, Saran is an Indigo farmer from Amri, Sindhi. He travels travels upriver to the largest city, Mohenjo-daro, where during a street mishap he saves the life of a beautiful woman named Chaani (Pooja Hegde). She is the 'Chosen One' and she is in hands of powerful politician Maham (Kabir Bedi) and his son Moonja (Arunoday Singh). So to get back his love, Sarman must defeat the rogue politicians and also save the city.
After 'Bang Bang', Hrithik Roshan is back with a real 'Bang'. He has delivered a top-notch performance as a farmer in Mohenjo Daro. He has delivered a sound stuff and he has pulled off the impossible. Pooja Hedge is gorgeous and she is beautiful in both the avatars. She also has some daredevil action sequences and we request you to watch them on big screen. She is definitely the next big thing in Bollywood. Kabir Bedi as Maham is ruthless and he is the perfect villain. Arunoday Singh, Suhasini Mulay, Nitish Bharadwaj and the rest of the cast have done justice to their roles.
Ashutosh Gowariker has a solid experience in handling such scripts. He is a master in making period drama movies and he does the same in Mohenjo Daro. After facing harsh criticism for the trailer, he promised that the movie would impress everyone. He has delivered the promise right now. C. K. Muraleedharan cinematography focus on every angle and every inch of the city. Kudos to the art direction team for making it so real. Neverthless to say, AR Rahman proves why he is 'GOD OF MUSIC'. The Background score is pulsating and during romance he soothes our ears. Sandeep Francis could have chopped the movie further more to keep the running time below check.
This is one of a movie which should be cherished instead of criticizing it. Ashutosh Gowariker has worked a lot and he has collected every tiny detail as possible. The larger than life sets will leave you awestruck. The movie also has Love, Action and Emotions and it is a perfect entertainer. Hrithik Roshan once again proves why he is at the top of his game despite some flops. Pooja Hedge is definitely here to stay and she will not be a one time wonder.
What next for Trisha? It's a known fact that Superstar Rajnikanth, who will be having a huge release next week in the form of Pa Ranjith directorial Kaala, 2 years after his dud Kabali, has another movie 2.0, which might release this year end, and another movie with Karthik Subbaraj, which might be his last.
