'Dharmadurai' is one of the highly anticipated movies as it brings the National Award winning combo together. Both Vijay Sethupathi and Director Seenu Ramasamy have a good understanding and that is what has carried this movie. Coming to plot, the movie is all about life of a village guy from his age 24 to 34. He goes through love life, profession, marriage, friendship and family and that is what the core plot. In short, you can call it as Vijay Sethupathi's version of 'Autograph'. However the little twists has made it even more special.

Vijay Sethupathi is flawless and he gets a meaty role for this movie. Only he can fill the bill for such a characterization. He is perfect as a rural drunkard guy, a doctor, a lover boy and a son. He has shown variety of skills in each character and that is a biggest plus. We don't want to reveal spoilers, but a particular portion in flashback will show his acting skills. You truly deserve a National award Vijay (Vijay Sethupathi we meant!). And then comes the versatile actress Radika Sarathkumar. She literally blown everyone with her sound performance. Easily her best mother role after 'Jeans'. She has made it a cake walk. The movie has three female leads Tamanna, Aishwarya Rajesh and Srushti Dange and Aishwarya Rajesh wins the race. Her screen space is limited, but still she makes an impact. Tamanna is neat and simple. Sorry to disappoint you, she doesn't make any glamour or skin show. Srushti dange has also done a small character. MS Bhaskar is just perfect in his role. He is one of the perfect character artists in Kollywood. Kanja Karupu evokes laughter and we missed you for a long time !

The movie stands tall due to its Music. Thanks to Yuvan Shankar Raja's musical score. Yuvan is back with some peppy music and sound background score. The songs are also perfect mix of melody, folk and rural beats.  ‘Aandipatt…i’, ‘Poi vaada..’ and ‘Endha Pakkam…’ songs stay in mind. Vairamuthu has delivered the best stuff for Seenu Ramasamy. Sukumar's cinematography is next level as he shows the dust storm of villages with some tint yellow shades. Editing is also neat. The running time is kept under check. Seenu Ramasamy as always has touched rural subject and delivered the best. He also has conveyed a message and that should be appreciated. The first half falls flat and that is the only negative. But second half compensates for it.

'Dharmadurai' is a rural village drama which may cater to audience of all ages. The first half is more of drama and second half moves fast with little commercial elements. The movie just has one fight scene and that is shot neat and realistic manner. Songs are the biggest plus and Seenu Ramasamy has extracted the best from Yuvan. Tamannaah and Vijay Sethupathi can be proud of doing such a movie.
