The story is about a woman who transforms into a snake to seek revenge. The movie starts with the flashback story about Naganika. She along with her forefathers are safeguarding temple grounds for many years. Kapali kills Naganika and takes the temple land. While dying Naganika takes oath that she will take revenge on Kapali. She takes birth as a snake woman to take revenge. The story ends as how Naganika takes revenge and rescues the temple land.

Actors like Vishnuvardhan, Diganth, Ramya, Sasikumar, Rajesh Vivek and Sadhu Kokila have acted in predominant roles in Nagarahavu. Gurukiran's music and background score was good. The movie was written and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and his making was classy. The movie was dubbed in Tamil and released as Shivanagam and in Telugu as Nagabharanam.

Johny Harsha has done the editing work very well and the cinematography work was looked after by H C Venu. The engaging flashback that is narrated in the form of an animated graphic novel, the narrative dips from there on. There is shoddy editing that pieces together a series of scenes that jump from one to another, some that hold no relevance to the story.

Ramya' s character as Manasa was good and she has done justice to her role. Vishnuvardhan also an amazing actor and his fans were excited to see his outstanding performance. The editing part is bit lengthy and few scenes makes the audience become bored of it. The movie is little entertaining in the first half. Rajesh Vivek has acted as an agori and it was stunning.
