What Is Good
What Is Bad
- Old fashioned melodrama
- Predictable screenplay
Vincent (Mukesh) is a wealthy Thrissur based businessman. Jomonte Suviseshangal is the story of millionaire business tycoon Vincent and his irresponsible son Jomon who is too busy spending his father’s money to make a career for himself. Since he is a sweet, harmless chap, his family is indulgent towards him. As is expected, a dramatic turn of events soon compels Jomon to grow up. But things take an abrupt turn as Vincent faces some sudden setbacks. Watch the movie for its surprising beautiful ending.
Dulquer Salmaan and Mukesh have displayed their acting chops despite the limited writing, but the actresses in the roles of Jomon’s girlfriends Anupama Parameswaran and (Aishwarya Rajesh) are stuck with playing colourless sketches rather than fully fleshed out people. The problem is not with the screen time accorded to them but the indifferent characterisation. Both the actresses have acted phenomenally in the movie and the director has done a good job in the making of the movie.
The eye-catching locations are well shot, but short shrift is given to all the supporting characters in the story. The cinematography work is lovely and the editing part is also to the fullest satisfaction of the moviegoers. The director Sathyan Anthikkad prefers to travel more or less on the same track, when it comes to his choice of scripts and presentation. His stories are aimed at the family audiences, who perhaps are much more smarter than him as they expect a slightly better version of some of those TV serials, with goodness in plenty.
Dulquer Salmaan with his affable charm is convincing as Jomon. He looks dishy and comes up with a dedicated performance. Jomonte Suviseshangal is an old fashioned melodrama but still could be a decent watch for the lovers of conventional family sagas. It is hard to believe that the very talented Dulquer who chooses his films with utmost care signed for this film after hearing the script. Dulquer Salmaan's fans will definitely like the movie and his stylish pose of acting. The movie's making is appreciatable, but the scripts are the only negative thing in the movie.
