Vijay Antony has earned the status of 'hit machine' of low budget films, has collaborated with Jeeva Shankar for Yaman. The combo had previously delivered a successful film in the form of Naan. The latest movie is a political thriller, in which Mia George plays the role of the female lead. She had acted very well and her chemistry with Vijay Antony had worked very well in the movie. Prashant's father Thiyagarajan has done a commendable job and the twists towards the end is highly predictable. Similarly, Charlie has done a meaty role as Thyagu and he brings the current scenario of Politics with his dialogues.
Yaman filmmaker Jeeva Shankar had also done the cinematography work and the editing part was played by Veera Senthil Raj. The film, which features Jeeva Shankar and Vijay Antony doubling up as the cinematographer and the music composer respectively is the highlight of the movie. The song "Yem Mela Kai Vachaa Gaali" was released as a single during September 2016 had touched minds of many. However, rest of the songs are so bad. Production values are so high and we can see the lavish budget in every frame. Background score of the movie was impressive. Editing could have been made a lot crisp.
