As Omanakuttan's life moves on, he snaffles up everyone's empathy and also takes them by surprise. At a glance, the plot appears to be ridiculous, but there is an attempt by melding subtle humour with novel presentation in "Adventures of Omanakuttan. Set in Mysore, the movie follows the life of the protagonist, who is an introvert.
Omanakuttan is safe in the hands of Asif Ali. He also transforms himself effortlessly in the second phase of the story. Omanakuttan's inferiority and lack of confidence are evident solely in social circle. He is a smart employee as far as his boss is concerned. Bhavana has something meaningful to perform in the story and she has done her part without going hammy. Asif Ali and Bhavana have proved their individuality in the movie.
The music of the film is found wanting at times but the cinematography sort of captures that mood of Omanakuttan. Adventures of Omanakuttan is an experimental movie but one which truly tests the patience of the audience with more twists and turns. Some scenes are bit confusing and taken faster to understand.
The protracted events in the film with blabbering of characters provide tedious moments. Sometimes the efforts to evoke laughter go in vain. The treatment of identity crisis creates confusion as the screenplay lacks a coherent answer to it. It gravely bungles the appreciation of the movie. The movie places itself in an experimental mode with shades of novel treatment. However, the recurring feel of a senseless tale hinders a thorough enjoyment for this summer vacation.
