Star cast: Arjun RampalIrrfan KhanShruti Haasan
Producer: DAR motion picturesDirector: Nikhil Advani

What Is Good: Thrilling backdrop and striking performances from Rishi Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. A full on action packed and cleverly written thriller.

What Is Bad: Major cinematic liberties and lot of scenes lack focus. The so called regular commercial entertainment is missing.

Boring Scenes: Irfan Khan's scenes with his family in the second half.

Watch It or Not?: If you are a fan of fast base action thrillers, you will surely like D Day. Watch it for Rishi Kapoo as he astoundingly plays India's most wanted man Dawood Ibrahim with lot of guts.

Om 3D ReviewStory

The story is of four Indian RAW agents played by Irfan Khan, Arjun Rampal and Huma Qureshi who enter Pakistan to bring Iqbal Seth (Rishi Kapoor), a dreaded don hated for his evil terrorism back to India. Whether they succeed in their mission or not is the what D Day is all about.

Om 3D ReviewStar Performances

Rishi Kapoor as the gangster is top notch. His look, body language and the way he has approached his role is worth applauding. Arjun Rampal seems to become a more evolved actor with every role and same is the case in D Day too. As for Irrfan, his portrayal of a man on a suicidal mission is so clear that you can touch his anguish. Newcomer Sriswara is extremely credible as Irrfan's wife and Huma Qureshi is very appealing.

Om 3D ReviewDirection, Music & Technical Aspects

In one of the most innovative editing techniques, editors Aarif Sheikh and Unni Krishnan showcase the scenes in an interesting and unique way. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music is situation based and his background score is what makes the film much more engrossing. Nikhil Advani makes this espionage thriller so different from the gangster films we have witnessed in Indian films so far.

Om 3D ReviewAnalysis

Once the movie crosses the fifteen minute mark, the plot only gets more and more involving and intriguing. The emotional baggage that D Day carries in scenes depicting Shruthi Haasan and Huma Qureshi's problems was completely unnecessary. Though a deeply patriotic film, D-Day is not anti-Pakistan. It is told in a tone that favours a detached distance from the proceedings. Every character in "D-Day" even the dreaded Bhai is a perfectly written and enacted.

Bottom Line : An action packed realistic film which will engross you right till the very end.
