After the success of his dual role entertainer Irumugan, Chiyaan Vikram unites with Director Vijay Chandar who had earlier directed the Simbu starrer Vaalu, which was released after huge delays resulting in the failure of the movie that might have worked at the box office, with a timely release. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on the net review of Sketch.

Sketch(Vikram) is a local guy, who works with Seth, and is involved in seizing vehicles for non-payment of dues. While a clash within the gang leads to Ravi (RK Suresh) exiting the gang, on the other end, an act done by sketch invites the wrath of the goon Baburaj. One after the other, sketch's best friends get killed, and he suspects Ravi and Baburaj's hand in it. Who killed his friends and what ultimately happens to sketch is what the movie is all about.
Chiyaan Vikram is at his best as the massy and cool local Gangster with a heart of gold, and his bearded, mean looks are reminiscent of Bheema days and he delivers an impressive performance. Tamannaah has been given a homely image makeover with a simple girl next door looks, typically clad in classy sarees, and fails to make a mark with a cliched role. RK Suresh and Baburaj are at their menacing best and impress with their subtle Villainy. The rest of the cast including Vela Ramamoorthy and Sreeman are just adequate.

Thaman's backgrounds score is stunning and captivating, elevating most of the sequences to peak levels of mass and ups the heroism factor very well. Of his compositions, Dhadikara, Cheeni Chillale songs are hum-worthy. Sukumar's fine Cinematography captures the raw nature and setup of Sketch's livelihood and presents the songs aesthetically. Vijay chandar, after a bad start to his career with the lackluster Vaalu that failed mainly due to the huge delays, has this time joined hands with Chiyaan Vikram for sketch, a mass entertainer.

Vikram excels as the goon who seizes vehicles with ease and carries the whole movie on his strong shoulders with his mass screen presence, reminding one of his days of prime when he scored back to back commercial blockbusters like Dhool and Saamy and was touted to be the next superstar in making. The first half moves at a brisk pace without many twists, while the second is drags with the climax looking forced. Supported by Thaman's BGM and With a shoddy screenplay with a predictable plot and several mass scenes elevating heroism, Sketch is an okayish entertainer, saved by Vikram.
