Macho man Gopichand has been missing a hit since Loukyam happened, years ago, as his last few releases like Soukyam, Jil, Gautam Nanda and Oxygen had failed big time, and have deeply impacted his career. Now, the actor has pinned hopes on his latest flick Pantham directed by debutant Chakravarthy. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Pantham review.

Gopichand is leading a happy life, until him and his friends, rub against the home minister Sampath and his gang, and Gopichand plots robberies from high profile people, including the minister. What happens when the minister gets hold of Gopichand's gang, and whether he was able to rescue them, and what was the real identity and motive of Gopichand and why he looted money is what Pantham is all about.

Action Hero Gopichand has got a huge opportunity in his 25th movie, to showcase his action skills, as he excels in the stunt scenes, and towards the end, he performs very well in the courtroom outbursts as well. Mehreen Pirzada looks gorgeous and has nothing much to do except romancing the hero. Sampath Raj is menacing, but monotonous, while Tanikella Bharani is good in the little scope he gets. Srinivas, Prudhvi, and JP are funny.

Of the songs by Gopi Sundar, Right Now, First time and Right now are hum-worthy, while the BGM is loud and jarring. Cinematography by Prasad Murella captures the heavy duty fight scenes and the visually pleasing songs shot in exotic locales in an appealing manner. Editing by Prawin Pudi could have been better in the second half. Director Chakravarthy, who had previously written for several hit movies, has turned a director with Pantham, and the movie happens to be the 25th for Gopichand who is desperately looking for a hit.

The movie begins on a dull and predictable note, but slowly gets into the main plot with the robbery sequence, and from there, the screenplay catches fizz. However, the second half again falls flat with many predictable scenes and is lifted purely by the final courtroom scene, where Gopichand delivers a good act, , mouthing sensational lines. Gopi Sundar's songs and Prasad's cinematography help Pantham's cause little, while Chakravarthy could have made the scenes fresh so that it could have helped the actual cause of giving Gopichand that much needed hit. All said, Pantham is a patient can watch popcorn entertainment, to kill time.
