Madison Iseman and Jeremy Ray Taylor as the energetic and naughty boys are cast perfect, while Wendi Mclendon is adequate. Caleel Harris helps spring up some laughter on screen with his comic antics and body language in his scenes with Jeremy Ray Taylor. Mick Wingert is menacing and is aptly cast as Slappy, with his evil antics adding spice to the screenplay.
Background score by Dominic Lewis is adequate, and elevates many sequences, giving the horror effect to perfection, besides also helping the hilariously comic sequences reach masses. Cinematography by Barry Peterson, combining live action scenes with the graphic shots has done a commendable job presenting a stunning, visually appealing flick.Ari Sandel, the maker of flicks like The Duff, and When we first met, has returned with a completely contrasting flick compared to his previous outings. and this time around, entering the Goosebumps franchise, has delivered what was expected and entertains totally.
With the Madison and Jeremy guaranteeing fun, with their warring chemistry, and with Mick Wingert in prime form as Slappy, Goosebumps 2 has enough goosebumps moments to laugh your lungs out as well as scare at the same time. The first hour of the movie moves at a leisurely pace with establishment of the characters, while the second half filled with menacing and loony antics of Slappy and how the boys control Slappy is well written in an engaging and entertaining manner with loads of well-conceived graphic shots and spectacular visuals, totally appealing to the audience, making Goosebumps 2 a winner.
