Superstar Rajinikanth, who was last seen in a Mumbai gangster avatar in kaala, is back with the sequel to his 2009 blockbuster SciFi thriller Endhiran, with 2.0, directed by magnum opus maker Shankar. As the movie has released amidst huge expectations, here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net 2.0 review.

With the whole of the city losing their mobile phones all of a sudden, it is understood that it's because of the evil Akshay Kumar that the damage is happening, and now, doctor Vaseegaran who's now leading a calm life with his robot Nila, plans to revive Chitti who can be the only hope for mankind against the Birdman. Chitti is now more than a superhero and he has to fight the very mighty Akshay Kumar and the movie is all about who won the battle of Chitti vs Akshay and what the fifth force is, and how Vaseegaran and Chitti saved mankind and the background behind Akshay's mobile attack.
Superstar Rajinikanth in his multiple avatars as scientist Vaseegaran and robot Chitti amazes with his style and wows the audience with his inimitable body language and Massy antics as Chitti as he takes on the violent birdman. Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar is impressive as the principal antagonist and with a superb backstory adding to the emotional connect, his menacing antics are impactful and violent. Amy Jackson as the glamorous Robot is sexy and suave. The rest of the cast including Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain are adequate.

AR Rahman delivers a stunning background score, which elevates Chitti's heroism very well, and his songs Pullinangal and Endhira Logathu Sundariye are stunning, to say the least. Cinematography by Nirav Shah captures the stunning visual grandeur of the movie in all its glory and the showdown between Chitti and Akshay are nothing short of a visual spectacle. Anthony's taut editing makes sure 2.0 is racy and has a crisp runtime. After the average content in Ai three years back, creative Maker Shankar is back on screen this time reuniting with the biggest Superstar of Indian cinema Rajnikanth to deliver the sequel to his 2009 blockbuster Endhiran with 2.0.

The movie begins on a thrilling note with mobiles disappearance, and later establishes the characters including Amy and Akshay perfectly and right from the invoking of Chitti, 2.0 gains momentum and begins delivering one interesting sequence after the other, and the second half encounter between Chitti and Akshay is well staged with grand action episodes and chases. 2.0 offers lots of Goosebumps moments in the second half with some thrilling episodes, an emotional backstory and offers typical popcorn entertainment with stunning visuals, scintillating cinematography, colorful songs, apt casting and to top it all, the Superstar Rajinikanth in top form delivering mass plus class entertainment at its best. All said 2.0 is the perfect sequel to Endhiran and delivers more than what it promised.
