After Total Dhamaal, action hero Ajay Devgn is yet again back on screens with a hilarious romantic comedy entertainer, teaming up with debutant Akiv Ali for De De Pyaar De, costarring Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net De De Pyaar De review.
Ashish Mehra (Ajay Devgn) leads a solo life separated from his wife Manju (Tabu) and situations lead the 50-year-old man to fall in love with the 26 years old Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh). However, his plan to Marry her gets opposition from his family including ex-wife Manju. Was Ashish able to win love is what De De Pyaar De is all about.
Ajay Devgn is perfect as the man caught between a late Blooming love and his ex-wife and is aptly playing his age. He's macho and hilarious as well. Tabu is superb in a tailor-made role and creates impact. Rakul Preet Singh is ravishing with her hotness on screen. The rest of the cast including Javed Jeffrey and Jimmy Shergill is adequate. RakulPreet scores as a glam doll and also as a young lover who is in love with an elderly person. The way she emotes is just spicing up the screen during romance scenes. Tabu who fights with Rakul Preet scores as much as possible in the screen space.
Hitesh's background score is pleasant while of the songs, Vaddi Shaaban, Tu Mila, and Chale Aana are hum-worthy. Cinematography by Sudhir Chaudhary captures the exotic locales beautifully. Akiv Ali's editing is taut. The camera shows the dynamic colors and captures the lavish locations in a beautiful manner. The production values are rich and there are no flaws.
Director Akiv Ali has debuted with an interesting premise and has developed the screenplay in a fun-filled manner. He builds the screenplay perfectly with the right balance of humor and emotions and Ajay Devgn is perfectly utilized in a comedy plus romance oriented macho role, and Tabu and Rakul rightly balance performance and glamour. The perfect runtime, lovely music, sharp editing, lot of laugh-worthy moments and interesting Humourous performances make De De Pyaar De is an exciting watch despite some shortcomings.
