After XMen: Apocalypse released in 2016, here's the sequel to the movie and the twelfth movie in X-Men series, Dark Phoenix, and this movie also happens to be the seventh and last movie in this series. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Dark phoenix review.

Dark Phoenix begins from where X-Men Apocalypse ended, and the movie revolves around Jean Grey, who while being on a Space mission gets possessed by a cosmic force that multiplies and expands her powers to unimaginable and uncontrollable levels which leads to unleashing of the dark phoenix. Now X-Men have to face the Phoenix and the movie is all about whether they decide to save people or their team member's life.

Sophie Turner as Dark Phoenix is captivating with her dark performance and on the other end, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique is impressive. Tye Sheridan and Evan Peters are adequate while James McAvoy is good as always with his subtle act. The rest of the cast including Nicholas Hoult and Michael Fassbender are aptly cast in their roles. James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey/Phoenix, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, and Evan Peters as Quicksilver literally nailed their characters.

Hans Zimmer delivers a stunning background score that builds the tempo and elevates the movie to a different level. Cinematography by Mauro Fiere is scintillating as the terrific CG sequences and action episodes are captured well. Editing by Lee Smith is taut.

Simon Kinberg has made his debut with Dark Phoenix, the last installment of X-Men series which has a more dark theme, as the first half of the movie showcases Jean Grey getting unlimited power and the negative impacts and the second half depicts the conflict between X-Men and Dark Phoenix and how they tame it. There are a lot of goosebumps episodes in the second half of the movie and Sophie Turner impressively leads the cast with the terrific act. With a power packed screenplay and performances, and impressive CG, Dark Phoenix is a captivating visual feast.
