Tamil cinema is definitely on the wrong path right now. The recent example is 'Puli'. You can see the actor drinking poison for the welfare of people and taking his last breath. He will make some statements which evoke laughter. The stereotypes and cliches have been boring. But still neither the industry nor the actors doesn't want to make a change.

The actors wanted to make movies based on their political motives. Movies like 'Puli' made us ask Has the entire film fraternity lost the sense of what works and what doesn't? Similarly horror comedies are the new trend. 'Kanchana 2' was a success and most movies try to do the same. 'Massu' got a huge failure and that is the best example.

With lead actors on board directors are forced to stuff, Intro songs, foreign locale songs, outnumbered fights, comedy tracks involving physical abuse, etc. So how can we end this ? The only way is we need more number of Spoof movies. Earlier Mirchi Shiva acted in a spoof movie titled 'Tamizh Padam'. The movie was a huge success. But later none of the movies got release.

Even the famous show 'Lollu Sabha' which makes spoof on movies were stopped as they mocked Vijay's 'Pokkiri' as 'Bakery'. The failure of 'Lingaa' is also a best example as even commercial king like K.S.Ravikumar couldn't save the movie with a old screenplay. If more spoof movies can be made, the film makers will at least make some sensible movies. Hollywood follows the concept for a long time. When is Kollywood going to have a wake up call ?
