At times there are some movies which fails to get through censor board. Lots of movies have direct release through online before hitting the cinemas. They fail to get release due to hot scenes or religious values or other protests. Below are some of the movies which had a release directly through online.
1. Bandit Queen (1994)
The movie was directed by Shekar Kapoor. The movie was about Boolan Devi and it was banned by Delhi High court. However Shekar Kapur fought for it till the decks are cleared. But even before that, the movie was released in VCR. The movie spoke about the hardships that Boolan devi faced in her youth as a female member of a lower caste.
2. Kamasutra : A Tale of love (1996)
Mira Nair directed the movie and of course the movie was banned due to lots of hot and sensuous scenes. However there were lots of debate and finally it got released after some two minutes were trimmed. But even this movie got prior release through means of VCD's.
3. Unfreedom (2015)
The movie was denied due to lots of reasons. It had lots of hot scenes and it also showed the religious fundamentalism followed in India. Censor board themselves requested the court not to release the movie as it can cause lots of clashes between Hindus and Muslims. The trailer itself created lots of controversy. But the movie is still available online. Most people have watched the movie through illegal ways.
