Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan was pronounced as 'innocent' in the 2002 Hit and Run Case. The Bombay High Court had pronounced the verdict that Salman Khan can not be convicted in the case with the evidences produced by the prosecution. The high court even ruled out the evidence of Salman Khan Bodyguard.

It is known that the Bodyguard gave a testimony that the actor was driving the car that day under the influence of alcohol and also ignored his repeated warnings to drive slow. The court suspended the sentence of the trial court which awarded five years rigorous punishment to the Bollywood Superstar.

In the early hours of September 28, 2002,  the actor under the influence of alcohol rode his Toyota Land Cruiser and crashed into five men sleeping outside the American Bakery in Bandra. One person, Nurullah Sharif, died in the accident and four were injured. About 14 years of trial could not establish who was driving the car on that fateful night.
