Varun Tej who was on cloud nine with success of 'Kanche'. He looked to carry the success with 'Loafer'. His earlier success includes 'Mukunda'. Disha Patani does female lead and she paired opposite him. The movie has a strong cast of actors like Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna, Murali and Revathy.
C.Kalyan under C.K.Entertainments banner produced the project. The movie got released recently and it is getting some positive reviews. Box-office collections were also good. The young actor had a good run with 'Kanche' at USA Box office. He expected the same with 'Loafer'.
But the reception for 'Loafer' in USA is very poor. The movie never even grabbed more number of screens in North America. A trade analyst said, "It is tough for Loafer at USA box office to grab theatres since there is a big dinosaur blocking the way there. Name of that dinosaur is Star Wars The Force Awakens."
Now adding more woes, Bollywood movies, Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani also grabbed more number of screens. Due to these, Loafer was pushed a lot back. Now the only saviour of the movie is NRI Telugu audience.
