Kollywood has confirmed four movies for Pongal. The race gets intense as 'Rajini Murugan' is also confirmed on Pongal race. The four movies are given below,
Rajini Murugan
'Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam' fame Director Ponram crafted the movie and . Keerthi Suresh did the female lead role. Imman scores tunes. The movie is funded by N. Subash Chandrabose and N. Lingusamy under Thirupathi Bros banner. Technical team comprises of Balasubramaniem for Cinematography and Vivek Harshan for editing. Samuthirakani, RajKiran, Soori and Robo Shankar are part of the cast. The movie is highly expected despite the repeated delays.
Kathakali
Vishal Film Factory banner and Pasanga productions produces this movie as joint venture. Technical team includes Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi for music and Bala Subramaniem for cinematography. Catherine Tresa shares screen space with Vishal for the first time. Thenandal Films already bagged the distribution rights for this project.
Gethu
'Gethu' is directed by 'Maan Karate' fame Thirukumaran and it is produced by Udhayanidhi himself under the banner Red Giant Movies. Harris Jayaraj is the composer. 'Mynaa' Sukumar took care of cinematography. Raja Mohan is the editor. Amy Jackson shared screen space with Udhayanidhi for the first time.The trailer itself got huge response and as the movie was preponderated, expectations are soaring high.
Thaarai Thappatai
The movie is based on the traditional 'Karagaatam' dance. Ilayaraja has composed music for this movie and interestingly this is his 1000th movie. Studio 9 company R.K.Suresh plays the role of antagonist. Technical team comprises of Chezhian for cinematography and T.Kishore for editing. Director Bala's B Studios are producing the movie and recently the overseas rights were bagged by Ayngaran International. Audio is already a huge success.
