Director Bala who is known to direct realistic and violent movies was last seen in 'Paradesi'. After lots of ground work and research he has shaped the project 'Thaara Thappatai'. This venture features Sasikumar and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in lead roles.
This movie is based on the traditional 'Karagaatam' dance. Ilayaraja has composed music for this movie and interestingly this is his 1000th movie. Studio 9 company R.K.Suresh plays the role of antagonist. Pragathi guruprasad also makes her debut.
Technical team comprises of Chezhian for cinematography and T.Kishore for editing. Director Bala's B Studios are producing the movie and the overseas rights were bagged by Ayngaran International. The movie is releasing on Pongal, and the team sent the movie to censors.
The censor board who watched the movie gave 'A' certificate and they have asked Bala to make some cuts for providing 'U/A'. But Bala denied the offer and he decided to go with 'A'. The movie will hit screens on 15th of January as planned.
