Suriya's '24' is all set for a massive release on May 6th and the team is completely happy with the output of the movie. The team had a press meet at Hyderabad yesterday and speaking at press meet Producer K.E.Gnanavel Raja said they preferred 'Manam' remake initially, but they dropped the idea when they heard the script of '24'.
K.E.Gnanavel Raja said, "We actually wanted to remake 'Manam' in Tamil. I watched the movie and it left an impact on me. I called my father and spoke to him soon after watching 'Manam'. My father too watched it and suggested to remake the movie with Suriya and Karthi in lead roles.
We met Vikram Kumar for remaking the project. The appointment was just for 30 minutes. Both me and Suriya went to his office and were speaking on the project. Vikram said he has another subject and he said if it is not satisfactory he can carry out with 'Manam' remake.
He narrated '24' script for 4.5 hours. It was a fresh concept and the movie materialized. Suriya often prefers experimental subjects and '24' will also be one such."
