Recently there was a buzz that 'Theri' has fetched 100 Crores and the movie has also broke into Million dollar collections in US Box-office. But Tamil Nadu Theatre owners depressed faces say another story. We already reported that the movie is facing huge dip in Tamil Nadu Box-office.
Now once again regarding this 100 Crores collection when we buzzed theatre owners and distributors they had a hearty laughter and they said, 'The Jungle Book' has earned them more profits and is still minting money for them. The movie which released on April 8th is still making a fortune for them.
When buzzed about 'Theri' entering Million Dollar club, they said, "Let them release the movie for USA audience alone." And as per their reports, 'The Jungle Book' still has 80% theatre occupancy and 'Theri' just has 40% occupancy. There is considerable decrease in the crowd for 'Theri'.
Another theatre owner said, "They themselves know movie is sliding down fast and to cover up the loss, they immediately announced the movie entered 100 Crores in 6 days. Truth is 'Theri' collections are so bad than 'Puli' as 'Theri' was sold for high price."
Theatre owners also said, the actors in the movie themselves promote piracy. Samantha, Raadika Sarathkumar share pirated copy screenshots and this clearly sends a message to millions of people that a good print is available on Internet. Then how will people prefer to watch it on big screen?
