Bollywood's young and rising star Shahid Kapoor starrer upcoming UDTA Punjab movie deals with drug addicts and mafia in punjab which is a never seen depth in Indian Cinema under this category! The film is sent to censor and it seems to hace a trouble in that!
Udta Punjab according to makers is a film filled with drug abuse and profanities as close to reality as possible. While the makers insist that it would not sensationalize and show a brutal and honest picture, the Censor board doesn’t seem to be impressed by them. They have suggested more than 40 cuts for the film.
Such a number of cuts would lose the track and purpose of the film as felt by the makers. They have now approached a tribunal where they are hoping the film gets A rating without any cuts. We have to wait and see whether the movie would release without any cuts as imagined by the makers of the film!
