Mahesh Babu is a famous Indian actor, Producer and Media personality. He is also the younger son of Veteran Telugu actor Krishna. He started his career as a child artist when he was just 4 years old. His debut came in 1979 when he did a cameo as child artist in 'Needa'. Later on, he acted as 8 movies as child artist. He made his debut as lead actor in 1999 with the movie 'Rajakumarudu'.
He also bagged State Nandi Award for Best Male debut in that movie. He further got some big break through with 'Murari' (2001) and 'Okkadu' (2003). 'Murari' fetched him Nandi Special Jury Award and 'Okkadu' fetched him Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu. Later 'Athadu' (2005) and Pokkiri (2006) established him as an actor beyond boundaries.
He started to get recognition outside Telugu speaking states too. Dookudu (2011), Businessman (2012), Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013), 1: Nenokkadine (2014), and Srimanthudu (2015) took his career to next level.
Childhood Days :
Mahesh Babu was born at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He often says he has a special bonding with the city and he also prefers to do a direct Tamil movie. His childhood was spent mostly in Chennai under the care of his maternal grandmother Durgamma and the rest of his family. Mahesh is an ardent Cricket lover and he used to spend time by playing Cricket regularly with his siblings at VGP Golden Beach in Chennai. He studied at St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai and actor Karthi was his school mate. Mahesh also got his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai. Mahesh even struggled to read and write Telugu in initial days.
Family Life :
By 2002, Mahesh was shooting for B.Gopal's 'Vamsi' at Australia. During that time, he dated his co-star Namrata Shirodkar. He was in a relationship with her for four years and the couple got married on February 10, 2005 at Marriott Hotel, Mumbai. Their marriage happened during shooting of 'Athadu'. The couple welcomed their first boy child on August 31st 2006. However this was not a normal delivery and Gautham was a premature baby. Mahesh's younger sister Priyadarshini was married to Sudheer Babu who is also an actor in Telugu and Hindi Films.
Philanthrophy:
Mahesh Babu is often known for philanthropic deeds. He was the first actor to donate a huge sum of 25 Lakhs to reconstruct areas which were destroyed during Hudhud Cyclone. He also adopted his father's native village and he address all the basic needs of the community. When Chennai was flooded last December, he was the first Telugu actor to provide helping hand. And lots more to show his helping hand. However he is not that kind of actor who seeks publicity !
