'Babu Bangaram' is yet another Action Romantic comedy flick written and directed by Maruthi. The movie features Venkatesh and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Ghobran scores music. Technical team features Richard Prasad for cinematography and SB Uddav for Editing.
Posani Krishna Murali has done role of antagonist. Brahmaji and Sonam Bajwa are part of supporting cast. The movie is bankrolled by S.Radha Krishna under Haarika and Hassine creations banner. The movie also had parallel Tamil release under the title 'Selvi'.
There was huge noise regarding the Tamil version as there are no solid Tamil releases yesterday. Venkatesh is also a known face to Tamil Nadu and with Nayantara's stardom, the distributors imagined they can mint money so easily.
But on a shocking note, most of the screens were empty and Tamil version had an average occupancy rate of just 15% in Tamil Nadu. Even the distributors who bagged the movie promoted it extensively in Tamil Nadu with lots of ads and TV spots.
