India has an inspiring history of freedom struggles and the nation had produced a lot of powerful leaders that took part in it. With Independence Day just around the corner, we are presenting this list of some best patriotic movies that you should have on your watch-list.


1.     Legend of Bhagat Singh, 2002

4.     Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey ,2010

Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone starrer flick was directed by ace film maker Ashutosh Gowariker and this film, was based on The Chittagong uprising against the British rule in 1930, is a must watch.

6.     Netaji Subash Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero, 2004

The biographical war film shows the life of the Indian leader Subhas Chandra Bose in Nazi Germany, 1941–1943 and in Japanese-occupied Asia, 1943–1945 and Sachin Khedekar has enacted as the lead actor.

This historical Telugu film is made in Telugu and it is based on the life of Alluri Sitarama Raju, an Indian revolutionary who is known for the Rampa Rebellion of 1922-24


8.     Chittagong, 2012

The flick is based on the Chittagong Uprising and the debut director Bedabrata Pain won a National award for Best Debut Film of a Director.


9.     Kaalapani, 1996

Kaalapani

The most costly Malayalam movie until 1996 and this film are about the lives of prisoners in British India who are brought to the Cellular Jail in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. 


10.   Shaheed Udham Singh, 2000

Shaheed-Uddham-Singh

This patriotic flick was released in 2000 and it is based on the life of Shaheed Udham Singh who spent his whole life to punish the famous Michael O’Dwyer, the then Lieutenant Governor of Punjab.
